A Man Stood 1

A man stood in a garden surrounded by night,

He knew what must be done

Tears streamed down his cheeks,

As He knelt and looked towards heaven’s light.

Filled with tenderness for His true love,

He’ll gladly pay such a price,

Hands shaking with a heavy heart,

He asks for strength from above.

His life is what will remove her guilty plea,

He knew what was at stake,

In a whisper He says “Thy will be done”,

In the morning light His love will have the choice to live free.

A Man Stood II

A man stood stripped, as people watched in heartache, and others in glee,

Bloodied and beaten beyond recognition,

The ultimate price for His unfailing love,

Willing to suffer so that the love He feels, His one and only might see.

A sacrifice to which no other will ever be able to compare

Taking on sins that were not His own,

Choosing to lay down His life,

The weight of a sinner’s penalty He chose to bare.

Death could not stop Him from conveying His emotions,

His love holds no bounds,

By overcoming death itself,

He lives, constantly showing His everlasting devotion.

A Man Stood III

A man Stands in anticipation to finally be with his bride,

Gratefully she accepted his sacrifice,

Devoting her life to his name,

So that when he returns for her she will forever stand by his side,

A romance that will out last all that are to come and have gone before,

A love pure as the fallen snow,

These two will forever share,

Only Heaven knows what this romance has in store!
