Angels in Disguise

These children of mine abused and neglected
Are really angels in disguise
Here to see what hearts are made of
I see that they are abandoned and rejected.
Their tears are really drops of gold
From these diamonds among jagged stones
Trying to find a tender heart
There are few I am told.
Be kind to those that others pretend not to see
They are my angels in disguise
Cleverly they hide their wings
Mere mortals they pretend to be.

Guardian Angel

What does your guardian angel look like?
I'm sure he is an amazing sight
Is there a golden halo around his head
With his glorious wings spread

Is he robed in white head to toe?
Surrounded by a heavenly glow
I'm sure we all have one that is his twin
But I’m going to give "Guardian Angels" a new spin

These Guardians protect our land As they boldly take a stand The "Guardian Angels" I speak of our not in white But they are still an amazing sight
Dressed in green camouflage and black army boots
These "Guardian Angels" are our troops.
